HAPPILY EVER AFTER

I am so excited to finally be able to reveal this room in my house designed for the upcoming fall season. This space was really decorated for my daughter and her husband who live in the Los Angeles area for school. My fall colors for this year are cranberry and light gray. Fall is my favorite season of the year. This year I really wanted to use colors I've never used before. Every room in my house has a simple classic white duvet so I could incorporate any color I want depending on the time of year. HomeGoods has the best duvets and blankets for every style. I like to keep things classy and elegant. This time I wanted to do something different. Something that would make my daughter and her husband feel comfortable and relaxed after a long trip home.
If you know me, you know I love color but I still want it to look elegant and yet relaxed at the same time. I'm always looking for color to add to my rooms and this time was no exception. My first piece bought at HomeGoods was the white nightstand. In reality, this isn't a nightstand but a table normally used to accent bathrooms. But since I like to use things differently, I went ahead and added it to my room. I immediately thought it would be perfect! I also made some paper flowers that I used for my white frame. It's something different, cute, and just a touch romantic.

I also liked the idea of adding my daughters wedding pictures in black and white. I used a simple white frame to add that small personalized yet romantic touch. As you can see, the gold chandelier from the other room was moved into this one. Let me tell you all a little bit about this chandelier. Many years ago, maybe 10, my mom found it at HomeGoods.Yes, we have been fans of HomeGoods for that long! It was a chandelier meant for an outdoor garden. It was pink and green, which I guess is suitable for the era she bought it in. Since I like things a little more dramatic, I gave it a whole new style. I added crystals and gave it a romantic style. It's perfect for this room don't you think? Look how cute this throw blanket is with the pom pom's at the ends.

BEFORE

How adorable are these pillow cases?! Perfect for newlyweds! I decided to add some Black pom pom's at the ends to give it a little bit of impact. HomeGoods has tons of different styles in these pillow cases but these were perfect the moment I saw them!

A small photo album filled with memories from their wedding day that I captured with my camera. Also perfect for newlyweds.

I loved these oval mirrors because they weren't too small or too big, just right. Perfect for the empty space next to the bed that doesn't have a lot of wall to work with. They were just the right touch. I added the black ribbon to give it the illusion of the mirror hanging by the ribbon.

Of course HE also has his side. I gave him an elegant black side table with some books. I also added a lantern with a candle inside to make his side a little more interesting..

When I take on a new project, the first thing I do is head over to HomeGoods. I love going there first because they have everything I need for my projects and it's also super affordable. You can't beat the price for that kind of quality. You find new unexpected treasures every time you stop in.

I hope you all have a fabulous day!

    1. Thank you Lupita, you can find the stencil at Joanne's. They don't have very many so you should be able to find it quick. And the color I used is a very light gray. I wanted the room to look like it has a lot of light. The color is "silver chain" by Benjamin Moore. And the cranberry color on the stencil is "Glitterati P-120-7" by Behr. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I don't know what happened with my blog but it wasn't informing me of messages I received

  6. Hi! I found your blog through my friend Shayna from With Love from CA. May I just say I LOVE how you styled your daughter and son in law's room. It's got the perfect amount of glam and love without competing with the masculinity of his side. I too will be moving in with my boyfriend and this room gave me some great ideas- I LOVE those pillowcases and even more so how you customized them with black pom poms to make them one of a kind. Love it! Great inspiration, thank you! :)
