GARDEN ENGAGEMENT PARTY

Happy April! I'm just enjoying the beautiful sun here in California. In this blog post, I will be talking a little about the engagement party we threw for my daughter and her fiance.
The party was just so everyone from both families could get to know each other a little better since we will be working so closely for the wedding!
My daughter and her fiance have known each other since high school (10 years) and their lives had different paths laid out for them. They didn't speak to each other for 5 years until their paths crossed again and they decided to get married. Everything was so quick because they both had feelings for each other since 15 years of age but neither of them dared tell the other one. The party was also put together very quickly.
As most of you know, my daughter and her fiance live in Long Beach in the Los Angeles area
because they are both studying to be nurses. It's a 7 hour drive from their house to mine. My daughter called me up 2 weeks before the party and asked if we could have it on March 28th because of Spring break and they would have the time off.
Otherwise it wouldn't have worked since her fiance spends Sunday's working at the hospital and wouldn't be able to take the time off. I think right now he is doing his rounds in the ICU (intensive care unit). So everything had to be done very quickly and with not much time to plan. I wanted everything to be beautiful because they are super excited for their wedding. The colors she chose for her wedding are blush, white, and gold.
The only thing is the color pink I used is a little bit darker then she wants for her wedding. She wants a very faint pink color. Blush. I'll leave you with some pictures of the party which by the way we had a blast at.
But before I go, let me tell you what I had prepared for dinner, yes I cooked dinner too! I love to cook and if you don't make it yourself, don't eat it. lol. I made breaded chicken breasts in the oven, mashed potatoes with rosemary and melted cheese, 2 types of pasta, steamed veggies, and a green salad my mother made that was absolutely delicious. It had apple, cranberry, nuts, and I can't remember what else but it was amazing. I'll post the recipe soon so you can make it at home and see how delicious it is. Well, here are the pictures and don't forget to comment!. Comments are always welcome!  Decor from HomeGoods and Ikea
